The questions firms ask before they start.
Short, straight answers — including the ones where the answer is “not yet”. If yours isn’t here, ask us.
Getting started
What does Yugmir actually do?
It gets your firm’s in-house Revit and AutoCAD tools onto the right people’s ribbons from one shared folder, and keeps control of them: who gets which tool, what is tried in Beta first, and how a bad release is taken back. It also comes with 41 ready-made tools, a Batch Runner and an AI assistant.
Which versions are supported?
Revit 2019 through 2027, and AutoCAD, Advance Steel, Civil 3D and Plant 3D 2021 through 2027 — including two versions running side by side during a migration year.
Do we need a server?
No. Your tool library is an ordinary shared folder you already have, a SharePoint or Teams library synced by OneDrive, or a web address. There is nothing to host.
How do we install it on many computers?
The installer runs silently (/VERYSILENT /ALLUSERS), with the licence key and
the shared folder given on the command line, so it can be pushed by any software-deployment
tool that runs an installer silently, such as Intune or Configuration Manager. An MSI package
is also available for Group Policy, Configuration Manager and Intune —
ask us for it. Group Policy
settings override anything set locally.
Windows says “Windows protected your PC”. Is the installer safe?
Yes. The installer is signed by Yugmir Technologies LLP — Windows shows that name as the publisher. Microsoft SmartScreen still warns about any new release until enough people have downloaded it. Click More info, check that the publisher is Yugmir Technologies LLP, then click Run anyway. If the publisher shows anything else, or “Unknown publisher”, do not run it — write to support@yugmir.com.
Day to day
How do people get new and updated tools?
They press Sync. The ribbon rebuilds in place without restarting Revit or AutoCAD. A file in use at that moment is applied on the next start rather than failing.
Do the tools keep working if the network or VPN drops?
Yes. Each computer keeps its own copy of the tools, so work carries on and syncing resumes when the shared folder is back. Licensing also works offline for a grace period.
Can we limit tools to a team or discipline?
Yes. Roles are given to Windows users or Active Directory groups, and decide which tools a person can have at all. Teams can own their own tabs, and each person can also choose their discipline to keep their ribbon focused.
We use Microsoft Entra ID (Azure AD). Will groups work?
Yugmir checks the Windows and Active Directory groups the signed-in user belongs to. Groups that exist only in the cloud may not be visible on the computer, so tell us about your setup before relying on them — roles by user name always work.
What happens when a tool crashes?
The person sees a plain message and the failure is logged for you. A tool that keeps failing is benched automatically — greyed out with an explanation — so one faulty tool can’t keep disrupting everyone. No add-in can promise Revit itself never crashes, and we don’t.
Does it work on Citrix or other virtual desktops?
We haven’t tested virtual desktops yet. If that is how your firm runs Revit or AutoCAD, write to us before you buy and we’ll work through it with you.
Your existing tools
Can we bring our pyRevit tools and LISP routines?
Yes. Import Tools brings a pyRevit extension or Dynamo graphs into Revit, and a folder of AutoLISP routines into AutoCAD, as ready-made panels. LISP routines and compiled C# or VB.NET tools work straight away. pyRevit’s Python scripts are listed for porting, and the AI assistant can help with that.
Which LISP files are imported?
AutoLISP source files (.lsp), with their dialog files. Compiled .fas
files are not imported.
Do our developers have to change how they write tools?
Mostly not. Tools are written in C# or VB.NET, or AutoLISP in AutoCAD, as they are today. The developer guide and templates ship with the product.
What if we stop using Yugmir?
Your tools are your own code, on your own drive. Yugmir does not lock them in.
Security, data and AI
Does any model or project data leave our network?
Not to us. Yugmir runs on your computers, and tools and usage data stay on your own shared folder. The only connections to us are the licence check and, on computers without a shared tool library, a daily update notice. Neither carries any project information.
What does it connect to on the internet?
Licence activation and licence checks, through Yugmir’s licence service, which checks the key with our licensing and payment provider, Lemon Squeezy. Computers without a shared tool library also read a small update notice from yugmir.com once a day, which IT can switch off, and the optional AI assistant talks only to the AI provider your firm chooses. The IT evaluation pack lists the exact addresses for your firewall.
Can it run on a network with no internet at all?
Not today. Licensing has to reach the internet from time to time; between checks it works offline for a grace period.
Where does the AI assistant send our data?
Yugmir does not include or host an AI model, and nothing goes to us. The assistant works through the AI app your firm already uses — Claude, Copilot, Cursor and others — so what someone asks, and what it reads to answer, goes to that AI service under your firm’s own account and terms.
Can IT restrict or switch off the AI assistant?
Yes, for the whole firm through Group Policy. Its link to the open model or drawing can be On, ReadOnly (looks, never changes) or Off, and the AI connection can be switched off entirely. Even when on, nothing changes in a model until the user clicks Yes.
Can we show who changed what, and when?
Yes. Every release, rollback, approval and withdrawal is recorded in a tamper-evident audit trail: if an entry is edited or deleted, or the trail is rewritten or cut short, Yugmir reports it. Each entry can also be collected from the Windows Event Log.
Is Yugmir SOC 2 or ISO 27001 certified?
No. Yugmir runs on your own computers and never receives your project data; our only services are the licence check and the update notice, which hold no project data. The IT evaluation pack, with its security self-assessment, answers the usual security-questionnaire points, and the governance page covers each control.
Licensing and the trial
What is in the free trial?
The full product, Revit and AutoCAD, for 15 days on one computer. No card required.
Can we try it on several computers?
The free trial covers one computer. Most firms have their BIM or CAD lead try it there first — the pilot checklist shows what to try in the 15 days.
Does one licence cover both Revit and AutoCAD?
Yes. Activate once and both products are licensed on that computer, including Advance Steel, Civil 3D and Plant 3D.
What happens when the trial ends?
The tools stop loading until a licence is activated. Nothing is deleted — your tools and settings stay where they are.
